Day 11 Choo Choo Goes the Train~

We woke up to a rather cold and dark morning on our last hours at Shaam-E-Sharhad Village Resort. After a simple meal of mainly toast, we set out to the train station in Bhuj. We managed to catch our train with just 2 minutes to spare (phew!) and had a spectacular six hours enjoying, questioning and discussing the changing scenary we passed through. Railways are one of the most concentrated urban areas, because they are focal points of transport. However, the conditions of houses around railways are often dilapidated, dirty and dangerous.

After the ride, we were ready to be welcomed by Fortune Park Ahmedabad. Unfortunately, our bus was still stuck in traffic, and so we excitedly hopped on the local autorickshaws (also known as dutos) instead. It was definitely a different experience as we enjoyed the honking, bustling and dust of the city without the comfort of a glass mirror.

Once we checked into the hotel, some of us headed out to dinner. We went to a street which was a fast food heaven - it had McDonalds, KFC and Pizza Hut all side by side! After days of eating only vegetarian dishes, we completely devoured the meat!

With our tummies filled, we decided to go out in search of a supermarket. Alas, our efforts were hindered by our inability to communicate with the locals. Instead of a supermarket, we found ourselves directed to IT and departmental stores. Nevertheless, it was a great opportunity for us to freely explore the city streets after days of moving from one set destination to the next.
