Reflections on field visits & Dialogue with Mr Rajiv Khandelwal

We started the class with sharing about our field trips to the Indian Heritage Centre (IHC). Each of us submitted one photo to talk about. It's interesting to see a gallery of different photos from all of us - emphasising that different aspects of the IHC impacted us in varying ways. Some of us were more intrigued by the things outside the IHC, while others felt that certain exhibits in the IHC are more intriguing.

We definitely enjoyed hearing from one another, and sharing our personal takeaways and feelings from the same place.

Our dialogue with Mr Rajiv was thought-provoking as he offered his take on 'Community Development' - a concept we have come to be very well-acquainted with in this course.

It was interesting to hear him recount his own stories from India, and see how he tackles local issues. He brings about some correlations and comparisons to provide thoughtful analysis of issues.

Unfortunately, it was his last day in Singapore but I believe many of us are looking forward to hear more from him when we go to India in December.

To end off the class, we engaged in a group activity: drawing out what community development means to us - without talking! And each of us only had two strokes each turn, so it was a fun challenge indeed.

Look at how intensely our groups worked!

Our masterpieces in the making!

Thank you Mr Rajiv for making our last lesson in Singapore with you a very insightful and interesting one! We hope you enjoyed this last class with us as well! We're looking forward to seeing you in India ~
